Databahn is looking for a Product Designer - UI/UX to craft intuitive, scalable, and high-performance user experiences across our Security Data Fabric platform.
This role blends advanced UI/UX design execution, design systems ownership, complex data visualization design, and cross-functional product collaboration. You will design experiences that simplify highly complex data workflows, turning large-scale telemetry pipelines, routing logic, and analytics into clear, efficient, and delightful user interfaces. This role is critical to ensuring Databahn delivers not only powerful infrastructure but also a world-class, usable product experience.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
End-to-End UI/UX Design:
Design intuitive workflows for complex data operations, including data ingestion pipelines, routing and transformation rules, and monitoring and observability dashboards.
Translate technical capabilities into clear, user-friendly experiences.
Reduce cognitive load for security and data engineering users.
UI Design Execution:
Create high-fidelity UI designs for web-based enterprise applications.
Deliver pixel-perfect, developer-ready designs.
Ensure consistency across layouts, typography, color systems, and interaction patterns.
Design Systems and Scalability:
Design System Ownership.
Build and maintain a scalable design system for Databahn.
Define reusable components, patterns, and interaction models.
Ensure consistency across the platform.
Collaboration with Engineering:
Work closely with frontend engineers to ensure accurate implementation.
Define component behaviors, states, and edge cases.
Contribute to design tokens and UI standards.
Complex Data Visualization:
Design dashboards and visualizations for high-volume data flows, cost and usage analytics, and pipeline performance monitoring.
Choose appropriate visualization patterns (tables, charts, flows, graphs).
Balance density of information with usability and clarity.
User Research and Usability:
Conduct user interviews with security engineers, data platform teams, and DevOps users.
Translate user feedback into actionable design improvements.
Run usability testing and iterate rapidly.
Product Collaboration:
Partner closely with product managers to translate PRDs into UX flows and wireframes, and influence product decisions through design thinking.
Collaborate with Engineering on feasibility and implementation trade-offs.
Contribute to roadmap discussions with a user-first perspective.
Interaction Design and UX Excellence:
Design micro-interactions and feedback systems.
Ensure smooth navigation across complex workflows.
Optimize for efficiency, speed, and clarity in enterprise use cases.
Documentation and Design Communication:
Produce clear design specs, user flows, and interaction documentation.
Maintain design artifacts in tools like Figma.
Ensure smooth handoff to engineering.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design.
Strong portfolio demonstrating enterprise SaaS products, complex workflows, data-heavy interfaces, and expertise in design tools such as Figma.
Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
Experience working closely with frontend engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing for: Data platforms, SIEM or observability tools, or developer products, security, or infrastructure products.
Experience with design systems at scale.
Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, HTML/CSS) and UI mockups like Figma.
Experience designing dashboards and analytics-heavy products.
Startup experience in fast-paced environments.
