Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Ahmedabad. The Reporter will gather news from multiple sources, conduct interviews, and verify information to produce accurate and balanced stories. Daily responsibilities include writing news articles, preparing reports on current events, and collaborating with editors to refine content and meet publication deadlines. The Reporter will cover assigned beats, attend events and press conferences, and may contribute to multimedia content such as photos, videos, or online features. The role involves staying informed about local and broader developments, maintaining professional contacts, and adhering to journalistic ethics and editorial guidelines.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills to cover diverse stories clearly and accurately.
Candidates should possess excellent Writing and Communication skills to convey complex information in a concise, audience-friendly manner.
Candidates should possess basic Multimedia skills to support digital and visual storytelling (e.g., photos, short videos, or social media content).
Relevant skills such as interviewing, fact-checking, and knowledge of journalistic ethics and media law are beneficial.
A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven newsroom, maintain accuracy under pressure, and collaborate effectively with editorial teams.
Fluency in English and local languages used in Ahmedabad media markets is an advantage.
