Role Description The Senior Account Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Guwahati, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, billing, banking transactions, statutory compliance support, and financial MIS. The position will ensure accuracy, timely reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities Area(KRA) :
1. Financial Accounting & Control
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
Ensure timely posting and verification of sales, purchase, receipt, payment, journal and adjustment entries.
Maintain general ledger, subsidiary ledgers and supporting schedules.
Ensure adherence to approved accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
2. Accounts Receivable & Collections
Monitor customer outstanding balances and ageing.
Maintain customer-wise receivable statements and collection records.
Coordinate with the Sales and Business Teams for timely collection of outstanding dues.
Identify overdue accounts and escalate significant collection risks to management.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
3. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
Verify supplier invoices, purchase bills and supporting documents.
Maintain vendor ledgers and ageing reports.
Coordinate with Procurement and Operations for invoice verification and payment processing.
Ensure vendor accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
4. Billing & Revenue Accounting
Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing.
Verify billing documentation against approved orders, contracts and project records.
Monitor pending billing and unbilled revenue.
Process credit notes, debit notes and necessary accounting adjustments with proper authorization.
5. Banking & Cash Management
Record and monitor all banking transactions.
Conduct regular bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
Monitor daily cash and bank positions.
Support management in maintaining adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
6. Statutory Compliance
Support GST, TDS and other applicable statutory compliance activities.
Verify tax-related accounting entries and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with external consultants, auditors and statutory authorities as required.
Maintain proper records for statutory reporting and audit purposes.
7. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare Daily Finance Tracking (DFT), receivable, payable, billing and collection reports.
Prepare periodic financial MIS and account reconciliation reports.
Provide accurate financial information to management for business decision-making.
Highlight significant variances, ageing issues and financial discrepancies.
8. Audit & Compliance Support
Maintain systematic and audit-ready financial documentation.
Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors.
Provide schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents during audits.
Ensure timely closure of audit observations relating to assigned areas.
Required Competencies :
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
Working knowledge of GST and TDS
Proficiency in Tally/ERP and MS Excel
Strong reconciliation and analytical capabilities
Attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Effective coordination and communication skills
High level of integrity, confidentiality and financial discipline
Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines
Qualification & Experience :
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com
Experience: 3–6 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts
Preferred: Experience in trading, EPC, construction, manufacturing or project-based organizations.
