Role Description The Refrigeration Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role involves designing and developing refrigeration systems and components for industrial applications, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, and performance optimization. The engineer will prepare technical drawings and specifications, select appropriate materials and equipment, and ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting thermal and mechanical calculations, reviewing prototypes, supporting testing and validation, and resolving design issues during manufacturing and installation. The role also includes preparing documentation, participating in design reviews, and continuously improving designs based on field feedback and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in refrigeration and HVAC system design, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
Proficiency in CAD tools and engineering design software for creating detailed drawings, layouts, and 3D models.
Experience with component selection (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves) and system performance analysis.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements for refrigeration systems.
Ability to work with manufacturing teams, interpret engineering drawings, and support installation and commissioning.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related discipline; advanced qualification is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with design, production, and service teams.
Industrial or product design experience in weighing systems, automotive, or related sectors is a plus.
