Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Embryologist role based in Lucknow and Kanpur, India. The Senior Embryologist will perform and oversee routine and advanced embryology procedures, including oocyte handling, fertilization techniques, embryo culture, grading, and preparation for transfer or cryopreservation. The role includes coordination with clinicians and nursing teams to plan treatment cycles, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure adherence to laboratory protocols and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities involve monitoring lab equipment, maintaining aseptic conditions, handling gametes and embryos, and troubleshooting technical issues. The Senior Embryologist will also support andrology procedures, mentor junior laboratory staff, contribute to quality assurance, and participate in data review to improve success rates and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Strong laboratory skills, including aseptic technique, handling of biological samples, and adherence to quality and safety protocols.
Expertise in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures, including oocyte retrieval support, insemination/ICSI, embryo culture, grading, transfer, and cryopreservation.
Solid foundation in reproductive medicine, including female and male infertility, embryology, and pharmacological aspects relevant to assisted reproduction.
Advanced experience in assisted reproduction techniques and technologies, with a track record of working in high-volume fertility centers.
Competence in andrology, including semen analysis, preparation, processing, and related laboratory procedures supporting infertility treatments.
Master’s degree or higher in Clinical Embryology, Reproductive Biology, or a related life science field; appropriate professional certifications are an advantage.
Several years of progressive experience as an Embryologist, preferably in a senior or supervisory capacity in IVF laboratories.
Strong attention to detail, ethical decision-making, and ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in patient-related work.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to guide junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support treatment cycles and critical laboratory procedures.
