Hiring: Divisional Head – Cored Wire & Metallurgical Consumables
Location: Delhi Head Office
Experience: 15–20 years
Qualification: Engineering degree mandatory; MBA preferred
TUF Group is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial business leader to head its Cored Wire & Metallurgical Consumables Division as an independent profit centre.
This is a senior leadership role for a professional who can take complete ownership of the business - covering sales, marketing, procurement, production, technical support, customer application, profitability, new product development and expansion projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for strengthening TUF’s existing cored wire business and also driving expansion into allied metallurgical products and new production lines.
About the Role
The Divisional Head will be responsible for leading the complete cored wire business cycle, including:
* Business planning and P&L ownership.
* Sales growth and customer development.
* Technical support for steel plant applications.
* Raw material sourcing and procurement strategy.
* Production planning and plant coordination.
* Quality, dispatch and customer satisfaction.
* New product development and technology upgradation.
* Implementation of greenfield / brownfield expansion projects.
* Development of allied product lines for steel, foundry and welding industries.
The role will be based at TUF’s Head Office in Delhi, with regular travel to the company’s plant locations in Kolkata, Vizag and Jebel Ali, Dubai, as well as customer locations in India and overseas markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Leadership
* Run the Cored Wire Division as an independent profit centre.
* Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly business plans.
* Own revenue, margins, working capital and profitability.
* Build a structured enquiry, offer, order and customer follow-up system.
* Present regular MIS and performance reviews to management.
2. Sales and Market Development
* Develop business with steel plants, alloy steel producers, stainless steel plants, foundries and other end-users.
* Strengthen sales of CaFe, CaSi, Pure Calcium, FeV, FeTi, FeB, FeSiMg, Carbon, Graphite and other cored wires.
* Track enquiries, offers, orders, lost business, competitor activity and customer feedback.
* Build domestic and export market opportunities.
* Develop direct end-user relationships and technical selling capability.
3. Technical Application Support
* Support customers in cored wire application, calcium treatment, alloy recovery, inclusion modification and ladle metallurgy.
* Coordinate customer trials and performance reviews.
* Resolve technical issues and customer complaints.
* Build technical documentation and application notes for different cored wire grades.
* Work closely with steel plants to improve product performance and repeat business.
4. Production, Procurement and Quality
* Coordinate with plant teams for production planning and timely dispatch.
* Improve capacity utilisation, productivity, quality and cost efficiency.
* Develop reliable raw material sourcing for calcium metal, CaSi, ferro alloys, metal powders, steel strip, CPC, graphite and other inputs.
* Ensure quality control, traceability, process discipline and customer specification compliance.
5. New Product Development and Expansion
The candidate will also lead expansion into allied products, including:
* Flux Cored Wires.
* Ferro alloy powders for welding electrode industry.
* Ferro alloy powders for flux cored wire applications.
* Special metal powders.
* Foundry treatment products.
* New cored wire grades.
* Other metallurgical consumables for steelmaking and allied industries.
The role requires a person who can evaluate market potential, identify technology partners, study machinery options, prepare feasibility reports, implement projects and commercialise new product lines.
Desired Candidate Profile
* Engineering degree in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Chemical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
* MBA in Marketing / Operations / International Business / Finance preferred.
* 15–20 years of relevant experience.
* Experience in cored wire, ferro alloys, steel plant consumables, welding consumables, refractories, metallurgical products or allied industries.
* Proven experience in managing a business division or profit centre.
* Hands-on experience in sales, production, procurement, customer technical support and project execution.
* Exposure to greenfield / brownfield expansion projects will be strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of steelmaking, ladle metallurgy, ferro alloys, cored wires or welding consumables.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
* Willingness to travel frequently.
