Role Description The Audit Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Rajura, responsible for ensuring compliance, accuracy, and integrity across SakshamGram Credit’s operations. On a day-to-day basis, the Audit Officer reviews loan files and customer documentation, verifies adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements, and conducts regular branch and field audits. The role involves examining digital and phygital transaction records, identifying process gaps or potential risks, and preparing clear, structured audit reports with actionable recommendations. The Audit Officer will collaborate with operations, credit, and compliance teams to follow up on audit findings, support remediation efforts, and contribute to continuous improvement of controls and processes. This position may also include training staff on audit checkpoints, risk awareness, and best practices for documentation and customer servicing.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of auditing principles, internal controls, and risk assessment, preferably within banking, NBFC, or microfinance environments.
Ability to review financial documents, loan files, and transaction records with attention to detail and high accuracy.
Comfort working with digital platforms and phygital processes, including basic data analysis using spreadsheets or audit tools.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing audit reports and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple audits and meet deadlines.
Integrity, professional ethics, and a proactive approach to identifying issues and recommending practical solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, accounting, or a related field; a professional certification in audit or compliance is an advantage.
Experience in field-based operations or branch audits in microfinance or small business lending is preferred.
Willingness to work on-site in Rajura and travel to local branches or customer locations as required.
