Role Description The 3D Reconstruction and Reality Capture Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves designing and executing workflows for capturing visual and spatial data from cameras, drones, scanners, and other sensors, and converting these inputs into accurate 3D models and digital twins. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing point clouds, images, and videos; performing 3D reconstruction; validating geometry and alignment; and optimizing models for analysis, visualization, and downstream AI pipelines. The specialist collaborates closely with computer vision engineers, product teams, and structural experts to ensure that outputs are robust, scalable, and suitable for monitoring and diagnostics use cases. The role also includes documenting methodologies, maintaining data quality standards, and continuously improving capture and reconstruction processes.
Qualifications
Experience with reality capture tools (e.g., photogrammetry software, LiDAR/point cloud processing tools, 3D modeling applications) and practical workflows for building 3D assets from real-world environments.
Strong understanding of computer vision and 3D geometry concepts (e.g., camera calibration, structure-from-motion, multi-view stereo, point cloud registration, mesh generation, and spatial alignment).
Proficiency with relevant software and programming tools (e.g., Python or C++, OpenCV, 3D visualization libraries, CAD/BIM or GIS tools) to process, analyze, and validate reconstruction outputs.
Experience working with sensor data (images, videos, LiDAR, depth sensors, or drone data) including data collection, cleaning, and quality assurance for large-scale or infrastructure-related projects.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical findings clearly, and document workflows, best practices, and specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
