Senior Recruiter, US Technology and Engineering (Contract Staffing and Direct Hire) | Remote, India · US business hours · Full-time
A high-performance enterprise recruiting environment. Not for everyone.
About STEPS Talent
STEPS Talent is a founder-led, boutique staffing firm focused on the hardest roles in enterprise technology: Cloud ERP, Cloud & DevOps, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Product Engineering, and Core Engineering, from core implementations to large-scale transformation programs.
We partner with enterprise organizations, consulting firms, and technology leaders where hiring decisions carry real operational and financial consequences. We are not a volume staffing firm.
We are built around:
Recruiting judgment
Technical depth
Disciplined execution
Long-term client trust
High-quality hiring outcomes
How we work: Sai
STEPS operates through Sai, our proprietary hiring intelligence platform, built from twenty years of enterprise technology recruiting judgment and used by every recruiter on our delivery team, every day. Sai supports the recruiter across requirement intake, sourcing strategy, technical qualification, candidate evaluation, submission quality, and recruiting decision discipline.
Sai does not replace recruiter judgment. It reinforces it. The result is higher-quality submissions, stronger alignment, more consistent execution, and better hiring outcomes.
You will not work alone. You will work inside a structured system designed for high-performance recruiting.
This environment is built for recruiters who
Think in systems
Value precision
Enjoy accountability
Want measurable performance standards
Use AI as leverage, not a crutch
Care about candidate quality more than resume volume
Can operate with ownership, urgency, and follow-through
If you need constant direction, motivational management, or a loose recruiting environment, this will not be the right fit. If you value structure, ownership, performance-based growth, and the opportunity to master enterprise technical recruiting at a deeper level, you can thrive here.
The role
We are hiring a Senior Recruiter who can consistently deliver inside complex enterprise hiring environments, on contract staffing and on direct hire, across technology and engineering roles.
You will:
Own full-cycle recruiting across enterprise technology and engineering roles, from requirement intake through offer and start
Source with precision across Cloud ERP, Cloud & DevOps, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Product Engineering, and Core Engineering roles
Conduct structured technical qualification conversations that separate resume language from actual technical depth
Align compensation, availability, work authorization, location, and delivery constraints early
Deliver submission-ready candidates with the reasoning behind each recommendation
Drive process momentum and protect client trust through precision, communication, and follow-through
Operate inside STEPS' structured recruiting workflow and transparent performance standards
This role is measured on judgment, quality, conversion, execution, and client trust, not on activity for its own sake.
What we look for
The recruiters who succeed here share a common background. Read this list before you apply. If most of it describes your experience, apply.
Staffing-agency recruiting, not corporate talent acquisition. Most of your career has been spent filling direct hire positions and W2 contract positions for clients, on an agency desk with a placement standard.
W2 and direct hire, not primarily C2C. You have recruited candidates onto a firm's own payroll and into permanent seats, not mainly moved sub-vendor or bench consultants.
Direct enterprise clients or the largest consulting firms. Your clients were enterprises hiring for their own teams, or firms such as Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY. If most of your career supported smaller implementation partners or system integrators, this role will likely not be the right fit; that work is usually a speed, volume, and lowest-cost game, and ours is not.
Industry depth. You have supported hiring managers in two or more of: manufacturing, power electronics, logistics and supply chain and shipping, financial services, healthcare, oil and energy, utilities, and AI and technology startups.
Technical depth in at least two of our six specialties. You can hold a qualification conversation without a script.
Compensation
Base salary: commensurate with experience and demonstrated production history.
Contract placements: 3% commission on gross profit, paid monthly on collected gross profit, uncapped, recurring for the life of each contractor assignment while you are employed by STEPS.
Permanent placements: 3% commission on the placement fee, paid once, after the candidate starts and the fee is collected.
Performance incentives: tied to consistency, production, quality of delivery, submission-to-interview conversion, placement outcomes, and gross-profit contribution, measured against transparent performance standards shared with every recruiter.
Growth: leadership and growth opportunities are available for top performers.
