Trainee / Engineer – Sales Operations

About the Role
Custiv is looking for a Trainee / Engineer – Sales Operations to support the Sales team in managing customer enquiries, RFQs, quotations, and project coordination. This role is ideal for a technically inclined individual who enjoys interacting with customers and coordinating across multiple teams.
You will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure timely submission of quotations, smooth project execution, and an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive and manage customer RFQs from the Sales and Marketing teams.
· Coordinate with Engineering and Project teams to prepare technical and commercial costings.
· Prepare and submit quotations and proposals to customers.
· Follow up with customers on quotations, purchase orders, and commercial discussions.
· Coordinate with customers to resolve technical and commercial queries.
· Act as the bridge between customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
· Provide customers with regular project updates and ensure timely communication.
· Coordinate with Finance for invoicing, payment follow-ups, and commercial documentation.
· Work closely with the Logistics team to support shipment planning and customer deliveries.
· Support the Sales team in managing key customer accounts by coordinating RFQs, quotations, project updates, purchase orders, and customer communications throughout the sales and execution lifecycle.
· Maintain accurate records of RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, and customer communications in the CRM/ERP system.
· Ensure prompt responses to customer requests while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
· MBA in Marketing or Operations is preferred but not mandatory.
· 0–2 years of experience in Technical Sales, Sales Operations, Inside Sales, Application Engineering, Project Coordination, or a similar role. Freshers with interest in sales along with excellent communication skills and a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude with the ability to understand costing and commercial proposals.
· Basic understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and industrial products is preferred.
· Strong coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
· Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM/ERP software is an advantage.
