Role Description The General Manager – Breeder is a full-time, on-site role based in Pollachi , responsible for end-to-end management of breeder farm operations. This position oversees production planning, flock performance, hatchability, and biosecurity measures to ensure high-quality chicks and sustainable productivity. Daily responsibilities include monitoring farm KPIs, coordinating veterinary and nutrition support, managing farm staff, and ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role involves implementing standard operating procedures, troubleshooting operational issues, optimizing costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across breeder units. The General Manager – Breeder collaborates closely with senior leadership, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to align operational performance with business objectives.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in poultry breeder farm management, including flock performance, hatchery coordination, and biosecurity practices.
Experience in production planning, resource allocation, and operational excellence in an agribusiness or livestock environment.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams, drive accountability, and build a culture of safety and performance.
Capability to analyze data, track KPIs, and use metrics to make informed decisions and implement process improvements.
Knowledge of veterinary health basics, feed and nutrition principles, and compliance with relevant industry standards and local regulations.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and report to senior management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Veterinary Science with significant relevant experience in breeder operations is highly preferred.
Willingness to work on-site in Pollachi and regularly visit farms and associated facilities.
