Director — Career Services & Alumni Relations
The NorthCap University invites applications for the position of Director, Career Services & Alumni Relations. The Director shall carry comprehensive responsibility for the University's placement, industry engagement and alumni functions across all schools and programmes. The role carries accountability for defined and measurable indicators, including placement rates, growth in compensation offered, expansion of the recruiter base, intern-to-full-time conversion, and sustained alumni engagement.
The Director shall report directly to the Vice Chancellor and shall be responsible for establishing the University as an employer's preferred recruitment partner, advancing its standing within NIRF, NAAC and comparable national assessment frameworks, and developing the alumni network into an enduring institutional resource for placements, mentorship and institutional reputation.
Key Responsibility Areas
Strategic Leadership & Governance — Define the vision, annual operating plan, and policy framework for the Centre; establish service standards and SOPs; and present strategy, targets, and outcomes to the Vice Chancellor and University leadership.
Placement Performance & Employability — Hold overall accountability for placement outcomes across all eligible students; drive the full placement cycle from recruiter engagement to offer management; deliver year-on-year improvement in median and highest CTC and in the diversity of roles offered; and expand the recruiter base each cycle.
Corporate & Industry Partnerships — Steward strategic corporate relationships, MoUs, and industry-advisory linkages; develop internship, live-project, and PPO-conversion pipelines; and establish an industry-feedback loop that informs curriculum and skilling priorities.
Career Development & Student Readiness — Architect and execute a structured employability programme spanning aptitude, communication, domain, and interview preparation, supported by counselling, assessments, mock interviews, and measurable readiness benchmarks.
Alumni Relations & Engagement — Design and lead a multi-year alumni engagement strategy encompassing events, digital community, mentorship, referrals, and giving, while capturing alumni insight to inform Centre policy.
Data, Analytics & Institutional Reporting — Own the integrity of all placement and alumni data; ensure accurate, timely submissions for NIRF, NAAC, and other accreditation and ranking frameworks; and generate dashboards that inform leadership decisions.
Brand & Admissions Linkage — Direct the employer-branding and outreach strategy, positioning the University's outcomes to strengthen reputation and admissions quality.
Institutional Contribution — Partner with Deans, HODs, and faculty; serve on university committees; and lead special initiatives assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is an accomplished leader in career services, corporate relations, or industry partnerships, with a demonstrable record of building recruiter pipelines and delivering placement outcomes at scale.
Qualifications & Experience
A Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in career services, corporate relations, industry engagement, or a comparable domain, including at least 5 years as the head-of-function.
Proven success in placement leadership, corporate partnership development, and team management, preferably within a university or large institutional setting.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities, with fluency in employability trends and market dynamics.
