Position: Architect – Landscape / Sustainable Architecture
Experience: Minimum 6 Months – 1+ Year
Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan
Employment Type: Full-time / Freelance / Project-based
About the Role:
VB Design Studio is looking for an Architect with a background in Landscape or Sustainable Architecture who is interested in creating context-responsive, climate-sensitive and material-conscious spaces.
The ideal candidate should be able to connect architecture, landscape, climate, local materials and crafts to create thoughtful and site-responsive environments.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop architectural and landscape concepts considering site, climate, context and user experience.
Develop microclimate strategies through vegetation, shading, water, orientation, open spaces.
Research and incorporate local, regional and climate-appropriate materials into projects.
Explore and communicate design ideas through hand sketches and conceptual drawings.
Engage with local craftsmen and artisans, understand their traditional crafts and explore meaningful ways of integrating their skills and craft into architectural spaces.
Participate in site visits, material selection, design discussions and coordination with consultants, civil/site engineers, contractors, vendors and craftsmen.
Prepare conceptual, presentation and working drawings as required for project development.
Software Skills:
AutoCAD
SketchUp
Must Haves:
M. Arch in Landscape / Sustainable Architecture
6 months – 1+ year relevant experience
Understanding of microclimate & climate-responsive design
Knowledge of local / sustainable materials
Strong hand-sketching & conceptual design skills
Understanding of local crafts & ability to integrate traditional craftsmanship into architectural design
