We are seeking an experienced and academically oriented Teaching Faculty member – Research Methodology to teach and mentor students in the fundamentals of scientific research. The faculty member will be responsible for introducing students to the scientific method, research designs, literature search and evaluation of academic sources, and research proposal writing.
The ideal candidate should be able to translate research concepts into practical learning experiences and guide students in developing structured, evidence-based research proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions on Research Methodology.
Introduce students to the Scientific Method, including:
Observation and identification of research problems
Formulation of research questions
Development of hypotheses
Data collection and analysis
Interpretation of findings
Drawing evidence-based conclusions
Explain different research designs and approaches, including:
Qualitative research
Quantitative research
Mixed-methods research
Experimental and non-experimental designs
Exploratory, descriptive, and analytical research
Train students in literature searching and academic research using appropriate databases, journals, books, and credible online resources.
Teach students how to identify, evaluate, compare, and critically analyse research sources.
Introduce students to concepts such as peer-reviewed literature, research credibility, source reliability, bias, validity, and relevance.
Guide students in organising and synthesising literature for academic research.
Teach the fundamentals of research proposal development, including:
Selection and formulation of a research topic
Research problem and rationale
Research questions and objectives
Literature review
Research methodology
Proposed data collection and analysis
Ethical considerations
References and academic formatting
Mentor students in preparing and presenting research proposals.
Provide constructive feedback on students' research ideas, literature reviews, methodology, and proposals.
Develop course materials, presentations, assignments, assessments, and practical research activities.
Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, academic integrity, and evidence-based research practices.
Participate in academic meetings, workshops, seminars, curriculum development, and other departmental activities.
Educational Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent in Research Methodology, Sports Science, Physical Education, Sports Management, Social Sciences, Psychology, Education, or a relevant discipline.
PhD / M.Phil. in a relevant discipline will be an advantage.
Candidates with a strong academic research background and relevant teaching experience will be preferred.
Experience
Prior experience teaching Research Methodology / Research Methods at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
Experience in guiding students in research projects, literature reviews, dissertations, or research proposals.
Experience with academic databases and research resources.
Familiarity with research and referencing tools/software will be an advantage.
