Role Description The New Product Development Assistant Manager will support the end-to-end development of new automotive components, from concept to production. This full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh involves coordinating with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to manage prototypes, trials, and product validations. The role includes preparing and reviewing technical documentation, assisting in feasibility and cost analyses, and monitoring project timelines to ensure on-time delivery. The Assistant Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support customer interactions for new product requirements, and help implement best practices in new product introduction processes.
Qualifications
Experience in new product development, preferably in automotive components or precision engineering, with strong project coordination skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, and quality control, including exposure to mass production environments.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; familiarity with CAD tools and basic design principles is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with feasibility studies, cost estimation, and process optimization.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work with design, production, quality, and supplier teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant industry experience preferred.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of OEM requirements, quality standards, and automotive industry practices; experience with Japanese JV or global customers is a plus.
