AI Research Intern — Zero-X — Canggu, Bali
Zero-X · On-site, Canggu, Bali · 4–6 months
What does it take to make multiple AI agents argue on-device until the answer survives contact with a real physical system — and ship a reasoning module no human had to hand-correct? Zero-X is an engineering company turning waste into clean power, named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list, Energy, 2018, and funded by Projekträger Jülich (PTJ), the German federal research agency. This is AI turning waste into clean power. You build the on-device multi-agent reasoning harness that bridges the local model instances with the internal database — real execution on a live system, the proof employers hire on. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.
What you build
You build the on-device multi-agent reasoning harness — local models, shared state, logged disagreements.
You work on the agent-routing layer that decides which model speaks when device memory tightens.
The evaluation set is assembled from the cluster's real failure modes, each case named.
The failure report is written for a researcher who was not in the room.
The bar
A multi-agent routing module assembled outside coursework, with the specific point where two agents disagreed named.
A training or evaluation pipeline another researcher can run without you in the room.
A hard inference problem kept on the table until the output survived a failure case.
A small agent stack put together outside coursework, with the exact spot where it went wrong named.
Who this is for
Researchers who ship, not just read papers.
You work until the agent stops giving you the answer you want to hear.
The two-year question: will you still be working on this when the cluster hits its third dead end and the funding report is due?
Where you do it — and why here
So the program runs on-site in Canggu, Bali. Epic Solutions PT runs the on-site program in Canggu, Bali. A modern company costs twelve people and a toolchain — so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build. The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day. What this location buys is attention, not a view. Monday reset, Friday ship — send what you made. Everything you built last week is worthless, and that is the freedom: you are not married to it. One cohort, on-site, the full phase — not remote.
What happens after
Earned, not guaranteed; the role, visa, and pay are agreed before you commit, never after.
Terms
Unpaid under Indonesian law. A room is available on campus — rent paid by you. Epic Solutions PT hosts the on-site program and assists with the C22B internship visa process; the visa fee is yours. Daily lunch on us. Starting October.
Requirements
A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent — proof you can finish something.
Not the ability to know things.
The ability to learn things quickly.
Something you built that nobody asked for.
AI is the stack, not hand-written code — Claude Code, Hermes, Codex; the skill is driving them and catching what they get wrong.
On-site in Canggu, the full phase.
How to apply
Apply via the LinkedIn application field. Submit your CV and the repository.
A finished CV was never the point. What counts is a thing you've built and the drive to build the next one. That is who we are looking for.
