Product Manager – B2B Software (Charging Management System)
Kazam EV Technologies | Bengaluru | Full-time | 5+ years
About Kazam
Kazam is an energy-tech company building the digital ecosystem for electric mobility — EV charging, energy management and grid intelligence across hardware, software and new energy technologies. Our CMS powers charge point operators (CPOs) from single-site owners to national networks. We are one of India’s Top 100 Deep Tech startups, and we build for real-world impact.
The Role
You will own the Charging Management System — the platform CPOs run their business on. Sessions, tariffs, roaming, settlements, uptime. This is a product where a rounding error becomes a revenue dispute and atwo-second dashboard becomes a churn call, so the bar is high on both scale and precision.
We want someone who has already scaled a SaaS product past the messy middle, is willing to spend time on the ground with operators to understand how dynamic pricing actually plays out, and uses AI to earn
confidence in a feature before engineering writes a line of code.
What You’ll Own
• CMS roadmap: own the platform roadmap end to end for charge point operators — from a single-site
owner to a national network — including an onboarding flow that gets a new operator live within a
week.
• CPO monetisation: dynamic tariff engines, fleet corporate wallets, coupons, subscriptions and flexible
booking rules across small operators to enterprise networks.
• Revenue management module: complete ownership of public payments and settlements — a
settlement engine that computes what each operator and site host is actually owed from real usage,
across tariffs, taxes and revenue-share splits.
• Settlement integrity: anomaly tracking across sessions and payments, automated reconciliation against
gateway and bank records, precise transaction closure, and an audit trail that holds up in a revenue
dispute.
• Invoicing and escalations: timely, accurate customer invoicing and receipts, plus a payment-issue
escalation flow that resolves disputes without pulling an engineer in.
• Roaming as a growth lever: OCPI/OCPP multi-network integrations so a third-party network onboards
with the click of a button — every network added multiplies the chargers available to users on our
platform without us deploying a single unit. Treat this as a strategic lever, not an integration backlog.
• Platform scale and performance: enterprise dashboards that load in milliseconds, sprint predictability,
and a technical-debt budget you defend.
• Enterprise delivery: high-priority escalations, turnaround of complex accounts, and clear feature
catalogues that sales can actually sell.
• The competitive picture: a live read on how other CMS platforms in India and abroad price, roam and
settle — translated into where we match, where we skip, and where we win.
How You’ll Work
• Get your hands dirty. Sit at charging sites, watch operators price and reprice, ride along on support
escalations. Your tariff decisions should come from the field, not a deck.
• Earn confidence before building. Use AI workflows — synthesis of support tickets and interviews,
session and pricing data analysis, rapid prototypes, simulated pricing scenarios — to test a hypothesis in
days, and kill it cheaply when it fails.
• Let the data lead. Session, tariff, utilisation and settlement data is the richest signal we have — mine it
for where operators lose money and where the platform quietly fails, and bring insights to the roadmap
instead of waiting for requests.
• Instrument everything. Every feature ships with a metric and a review date; if it did not move a number,
you say so first.
• Watch the market closely. Track competing CMS platforms, protocol standards and CPO business
models, and turn that into positioning and pricing calls the sales team can carry.
• Write clearly. Crisp specs, acceptance criteria and trade-off notes that engineering, design and sales can
each act on without a meeting.
What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years in product management on B2B software or SaaS, with at least one product you took from
early traction to real scale — growing customers, load, and edge cases — and can talk about what broke
on the way.
• Proven end-to-end shipping record, with feature-level success tracking tied to business impact.
• Comfort with transactional, money-touching systems: billing, reconciliation, settlements, taxation or
metering.
• Strong analytical depth — you write your own queries, build your own cuts, and have shipped features
that started as something you found in the data.
• A track record of competitive and market analysis that changed a product decision — not a spreadsheet
of feature ticks, but a clear view of where a rival is strong and what to do about it.
• Working fluency with AI tools for discovery, analysis and prototyping, and a point of view on where they
help and where they mislead.
• Hands-on Agile/Scrum collaboration with engineering; fluent in Jira, Amplitude/Mixpanel, Figma or
equivalents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with enterprise customers.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points
• EV charging, energy, mobility, fintech or payments background.
• Direct exposure to OCPI/OCPP or other interoperability protocols.
• Experience building for both self-serve small operators and enterprise fleets on one platform.
This Role Is Not For You If
• Your scaling experience is limited to 0-to-1 builds that never carried production load.
• You would rather stay in the roadmap tool than spend a day at a charging site with a CPO.
• You build first and validate later.
