In 1995, Reco diversified into low voltage current transformers and further extended into potential and control transformers in 2008. The Wadala location serves as a key manufacturing base and technical hub for the organization.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Transformer Design Engineer based at the Wadala works. The role involves designing low voltage current transformers, potential transformers, and control transformers in line with technical specifications and relevant standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing design calculations, creating detailed drawings, selecting materials, and optimizing designs for performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability. The engineer will collaborate closely with production, quality, and procurement teams to support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of transformer designs. Responsibilities also include maintaining design documentation, supporting customer-specific design requests, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the design and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, particularly in transformer theory, magnetic circuits, and insulation design.
Proficiency in transformer design tools and CAD software for creating technical drawings and documentation.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations for transformer design, testing, and safety.
Experience working with manufacturing teams, including design for manufacturability, quality assurance, and production support.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle design challenges, performance issues, and customer requirements.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and preparing technical reports.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field; prior experience in transformer design or power equipment manufacturing is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Wadala, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
