Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring that production targets are met safely, on time, and within quality standards. This role includes planning and scheduling production, allocating resources, and supervising production teams to maintain consistent workflow and output. The Production Manager monitors performance metrics, addresses bottlenecks, coordinates with maintenance and quality teams, and implements process improvements to reduce downtime and waste. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve enforcing safety protocols, maintaining production documentation, coordinating with procurement and inventory for material availability, and communicating regularly with management on progress and issues. The role requires hands-on leadership on the shop floor, guiding team members, resolving operational problems, and supporting training and development.
Qualifications
Strong experience in production planning, scheduling, and shop floor supervision within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of quality control practices, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies
Ability to manage teams effectively, including task delegation, performance monitoring, and fostering a safe, inclusive work culture.
Competence in using production management tools and basic software applications for reporting, data analysis, and documentation.
Understanding of machinery and equipment used in mechanical or industrial manufacturing, with the ability to coordinate maintenance and minimize downtime.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
Prior experience as a Production Manager or in a senior production role in a similar industry will be considered an advantage.
