Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Production Manager role based in Chennai, with some flexibility for work-from-home, depending on business needs. The Production Manager oversees daily production activities, ensuring that processing lines run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards and export regulations. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling production, coordinating raw material intake, supervising staff, monitoring equipment performance, and resolving operational issues promptly. The role involves implementing and maintaining hygiene and safety protocols, working with quality assurance teams on inspections and audits, and optimizing processes to reduce waste and improve yield. The Production Manager also collaborates with procurement, logistics, and management to meet delivery deadlines, manage costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Proven experience in production management, preferably in food processing, seafood, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality control, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance for export markets.
Ability to plan and manage production schedules, allocate resources, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Competence in using production monitoring tools, basic ERP or inventory systems, and data analysis for decision-making.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of coaching and developing staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, or a related field; relevant diplomas or certifications are an advantage.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental practices in manufacturing; exposure to HACCP or similar frameworks is a plus.
Willingness to work on-site in Chennai as required in a hybrid work arrangement.
