Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead the technology and engineering charter for our Trade and Supply Chain Finance products.
The ideal candidate should be a strong product engineering leader with deep experience in building and scaling enterprise banking platforms. The role requires a solid engineering foundation, strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design and cloud-native technologies, and the ability to make critical architectural and technology decisions.
This is not purely a people-management role. We are looking for someone who has personally grown through engineering and product development and continues to remain close to architecture, technology and the product build lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end engineering charter for Trade and Supply Chain Finance products, covering architecture, development, engineering quality, scalability and technology evolution.
Define and drive the engineering and technology roadmap aligned with product and business strategy.
Own key architecture and technology decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, reliability and maintainability.
Drive the evolution of products toward microservices, API-first and cloud-native architectures.
Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams while maintaining strong technical depth and staying close to the engineering lifecycle.
Drive engineering excellence across design, coding standards, DevSecOps, automation, testing, performance and release quality.
Lead AWS-based/cloud-native engineering and deployment practices.
Drive effective adoption of Java, Python and open-source technologies across the engineering stack.
Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Delivery and Business teams to translate product strategy into scalable technology solutions.
Identify opportunities to incorporate AI/ML and GenAI capabilities into product and engineering workflows.
Must-Have Experience
19+ years of overall technology/Banking/Engineering experience, with significant leadership experience.
15+ years of experience in Banking/BFSI technology.
Strong preference for direct experience in Trade Finance and/or Supply Chain Finance technology/products
Proven product engineering/build experience — must have built and scaled technology products, rather than primarily managing delivery or teams.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design and distributed systems.
Strong experience with AWS/cloud and cloud-native application development.
Strong technology foundation in Java and open-source technologies.
Demonstrated experience leading senior engineering teams and making enterprise-level architecture and technology decisions.
Good-to-Have
Experience modernizing large or legacy banking platforms into cloud-native, API-led architectures.
Understanding of Trade Finance ecosystems, integrations and banking platforms.
Awareness of AI/ML and GenAI use cases and their application to banking products and engineering productivity.
