Role Description The Erection Engineer role at Westeel Building is a full-time, on-site position based in Bhubaneswar. The Erection Engineer oversees and coordinates the erection of pre-engineered and conventional steel structures, ensuring that work is carried out safely, accurately, and according to design specifications and project schedules. Daily responsibilities include supervising site teams, interpreting structural drawings, planning erection sequences, monitoring quality and safety compliance, and resolving technical issues that arise during construction. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, fabrication teams, and clients to align site activities with project timelines and cost targets, preparing progress reports, and supporting continuous improvement in erection methods and procedures.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of steel structure erection, construction methods, and site supervision, including familiarity with pre-engineered building systems.
Ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings, erection plans, and technical specifications.
Understanding of construction safety standards, quality control practices, and basic civil engineering principles.
Proficiency in using basic engineering tools and software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD or similar drafting tools) for planning and documentation.
Effective communication and coordination skills for working with site crews, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Bachelor’s or diploma degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; prior experience in steel building erection is highly desirable.
Willingness to work on-site in varying weather conditions and to adhere strictly to safety and company policies.
