Role Description The Head Broking Research Analyst will lead the equity and market research function, providing actionable insights and investment ideas to institutional and high-value clients. This full-time, on-site role in Mumbai involves overseeing sector and company coverage, building and maintaining financial models, and generating research reports, thematic studies, and market strategy notes. The role includes guiding junior analysts, ensuring research quality and compliance, and coordinating closely with sales, trading, and broking teams to support client pitches and execution. The Head Broking Research Analyst will engage with company managements, industry experts, and regulators, attend earnings calls and events, and translate market and macro developments into clear recommendations aligned with client mandates. The position also requires continuous monitoring of portfolio-relevant developments and refinement of research frameworks and processes.
Qualifications
Strong equity research and financial analysis skills, including company valuation, sector benchmarking, and financial modeling.
Expertise in broking research for institutional clients, with experience in idea generation, investment recommendations, and market strategy.
Solid understanding of Indian capital markets, SEBI regulations, and trading mechanisms across major exchanges.
Ability to lead and mentor research teams, manage coverage priorities, and maintain high-quality, timely deliverables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear reports and present to senior stakeholders and clients.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools; familiarity with data and analytics platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar.
Strong quantitative and qualitative research capabilities, with attention to detail and a data-driven approach to investment analysis.
Master’s degree or professional qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
Prior experience in institutional equity research, broking research, or investment banking within Indian or emerging markets is highly desirable.
