Senior Manager / Head – Finance & Accounts (CFO Track)
Location: Bengaluru
Reporting to: Founder & CEO
Career progression: Intended progression to CFO based on demonstrated capability and business growth.
Role Purpose
The Senior Manager / Head – Finance & Accounts will take ownership of the company’s finance and accounting function and progressively develop into a strategic finance leadership role. The incumbent will initially focus on strengthening financial reporting, controls, compliance, costing, cash-flow management and working-capital discipline while increasingly partnering with the CEO on financial planning and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Own accounting, monthly closing and financial reporting.
Prepare monthly MIS including P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow and key management KPIs.
Analyse revenue, gross margins, contribution and profitability by customer/product/category.
Establish accurate product costing and monitor raw-material, conversion, wastage and manufacturing costs.
Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts and variance analysis.
Manage weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasting.
Improve receivables, inventory, payable and overall working-capital management.
Manage banking relationships, working-capital limits, loans and financial documentation.
Ensure GST, TDS, income-tax and other statutory compliance.
Coordinate statutory, tax, GST and internal audits.
Strengthen internal financial controls, approval systems and documentation.
Monitor inventory valuation, ageing and physical stock reconciliation.
Review major customer/vendor commercial terms from a financial perspective.
Support management in capex evaluations, pricing decisions and new business opportunities.
Improve ERP/accounting systems and automate financial reporting wherever appropriate.
Manage and develop the finance and accounts team.
Present financial performance, risks and corrective actions directly to the CEO.
Gradually assume broader CFO responsibilities including financial strategy, fund raising, risk management and long-term business planning.
Candidate Profile
CA preferred; CMA/other strong finance qualification may be considered.
Approximately 8–15 years of relevant experience.
Strong manufacturing or product-business exposure preferred.
Demonstrated experience independently managing finance/accounts.
Strong knowledge of costing, MIS, cash flow, working capital, GST and banking.
Advanced Excel and strong ERP/accounting-system capability.
Commercially minded, analytical and highly hands-on.
High integrity and strong communication skills.
Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing organisation.
