Job Description
You will be responsible for supporting risk management oversight to Visa Direct including Visa Payments Limited (VPL), The Currency Cloud Limited (TCCL), B2B Connect, VGSI, and YellowPepper. A solid foundation in risk management ensures the Visa Direct organization maintains a strong reputation at the forefront of the payments industry and supports its long-term growth strategy. You will provide support with second line risk and controls assurance to the whole Visa Direct team, and support the design and implementation of appropriate risk oversight and ensure risks are identified and managed within Visa’s Risk Appetite.
You will provide support and assist the Visa Direct Risk team to manage risk relationships across Visa Direct and Visa globally, as well as externally with Regulatory bodies, auditors and professional assessors. Strengthening the Second Line of Defense and ensuring adequate controls assurance of first line of defense risk and control teams within Visa Direct.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for Risk management oversight at Visa Direct.
Provide support in embedding strong risk culture across the Visa Direct Organization
Pro-actively collaborate internally with Risk colleagues and with Head of functions and senior management at Visa Direct business to identify, manage and mitigate key areas of risk, including but not limited to, strategic, financial, operational, ecosystem and legal and compliance risks
Maintain risk register, key risk indicators and management reporting on business unit risk profiles to highlight risks that warrant attention and escalate issues to management
Oversee Risk and Control Self-Assessments and provide constructive challenge to uplift control design and effectiveness to reduce risk exposure
Design Risk control testing to augment and support business unit and second line risk program testing efforts
Provide oversight of business unit incidents, events and issues management
Establish and oversee deployment of processes to deliver ongoing and adequate monitoring, testing and reporting of risks
Implement Visa's enterprise risk management policy, including providing support to enhance company-wide processes and to strengthen risk management capabilities
Contribute to the effective oversight of enterprise risks by providing risk reporting to the Business Leadership of Visa Direct, VPL, TCCL and other entities within Visa Direct, Risk Committees and the respective Board of the entities, including through enhanced use of Key Risk Indicators and analytics
Encourage and provide support to first line in adoption of Digitization through use of Visa’s Enterprise Risk Management tool as Source of record for Visa’s risks and controls.
We are currently operating a hybrid work policy, with the expectation being 3 days in the London Paddington office.
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience in Risk Management
A good understanding of the payments industry and financial services, payment products and services, and of wider economic / competitive landscape
Excellent knowledge and understanding of risk management practices: experience in identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risk, gained across different risk types
Strong understanding of Financial, Compliance and Technology related risks including but not limited to Payment Service regulations.
Experience in collaborating cross-functionally to ensure risk assessments are comprehensive
Display effective communication skills to advise and influence Heads of functions, Senior Directors, and other leadership team members across Visa Direct.
Capability to recognize and understand root causes, patterns, or trends across a broad spectrum of activity that could result in risk to the organization
Produce impactful management information and support informed executive decision making
Clear thinker with strong technical and data analysis skills, plus solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulation and experience of working with regulators
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Ability to quickly understand complex and fast-moving topics and identify key points and go forward plans with limited information
Champion the establishment of training and awareness programs to build general acumen on processes, risks, and controls standards
Experience in the effective use of Risk management tools
Educated to degree level or hold equivalent professional experience in Accounting, Finance or Business
Top 4 accounting and consulting experience desirable
