Chartered Accountant – Travel Business
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 5+ years post-qualification experience preferred
CTC: Up to ₹12 LPA

About the Role
We are looking for a commercially oriented Chartered Accountant / Finance professional to manage and strengthen the finance and accounting function of our travel business.
The ideal candidate should go beyond routine accounting and compliance and take ownership of financial controls, collections, cash flow, reconciliations, profitability, MIS, and business decision support.
Candidates with experience in travel, airline, hospitality, or corporate travel will have an added advantage. Strong candidates from audit, internal audit or controllership backgrounds will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and month-end closing.
Monitor and improve accounts receivable, collections, vendor payables and cash flow.
Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax and other statutory requirements.
Manage and review airline/BSP, GDS, hotel and vendor reconciliations.
Review commissions, service fees, refunds, credit notes, cancellations and other travel-related transactions.
Prepare client-wise, branch-wise and department-wise profitability reports.
Prepare and analyse monthly MIS, P&L, cash-flow statements and management reports.
Strengthen credit control, outstanding monitoring and collection processes.
Identify financial leakages, accounting errors, control gaps and cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax auditors and internal auditors.
Review commercial agreements, credit terms, payment terms and their financial implications.
Establish and strengthen financial controls, processes and reconciliation mechanisms.
Lead, supervise and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
Work closely with senior management on financial analysis, budgeting, profitability and business decisions.
Provide actionable recommendations to improve margins, working capital and overall financial performance.
Qualification
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
CA Inter / IPCC / PCC candidates with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
Candidates not currently pursuing further studies are welcome to apply.
Experience
Ideally 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Candidates with strong experience in audit, internal audit, accounting, controllership or finance operations will be considered.
Experience in travel, airline, hospitality or corporate travel is an advantage.
Key Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting, GST, TDS and Income Tax.
Strong Excel and MIS skills.
Excellent reconciliation and financial-control capabilities.
Good understanding of AR, AP, collections and working-capital management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Ability to understand profitability at client / branch / department level.
Strong communication and team-management skills.
Ability to work independently and interact confidently with senior management.
Strong commercial mindset with an ability to translate financial information into business decisions.
Preferred Background
Candidates from the following backgrounds are particularly relevant:
CA | CA Inter | IPCC | PCCC | Finance & Accounts | Internal Audit | Statutory Audit | Controllership
Travel / Airline / Hospitality / Corporate Travel experience will be an added advantage.
Compensation
Up to ₹12 LPA, depending on experience, qualification, and overall suitability.
Mumbai-based candidates are preferred.
