US Accountant

About Us
Messina Madrid Global is a growing international organization serving clients across multiple countries. We are looking for a detail-oriented US Accountant with 2–5 years of hands-on US accounting experience to join our remote finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for US-based clients.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Work with QuickBooks Online/Desktop and other US accounting software.
- Support payroll processing and maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinate with CPAs, tax professionals, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with US accounting standards and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on US accounting experience (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
- Experience with AP, AR, General Ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar accounting software.
- Experience with US payroll and sales tax.
- Experience working with US-based CPA firms or international clients.
