About The Company
The GRETA Group is a global leader in recycling of metals, operating for almost 3 decades and has well diversified business interests in the following business verticals;
a. Trading in steel & related products;
b. Recycling of metals.
c, Agro business (Processing, Trading & Exports);
d. Power Generation (Renewable Energy);
e. Exploration and development of mineral assets;
The group has expanded and is operating from 9 different locations across the globe, having turnover of USD 1bln+.
GEL is setting up a greenfield Integrated Steel Plant at Bhadrawati (Chandrapur) in the state of Maharashtra, having capacity of 0.4 MTPA finished steel, along with 1.2 MTPA Iron Ore Pellet Plant, 65000 NM3/Hr of Syn Gas based on Coal Gasification Technology, and other auxiliary units along with these capacities.
About the Role
Greta Group company Greta Energy Ltd., is setting up a greenfield integrated steel plant in Maharashtra and are looking for an experienced CSR professional to lead community engagement, stakeholder management, and social development initiatives from the project's early stages through to operational phase.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and monitor CSR strategy and annual action plans aligned with Companies Act, CSR Rules, and company sustainability goals.
• Lead community engagement and stakeholder management around the greenfield project site, communities around, local villages, panchayats, and district administration.
• Manage livelihood restoration, and grievance redressal mechanisms for the population around project site.
• Build and maintain relationships with local government bodies, elected representatives, NGOs, and community leaders around project site.
• Plan and execute programs in education, healthcare, skill development, livelihood, infrastructure, and environment as per the CSR policy.
• Manage CSR budgets, ensure statutory compliance, and prepare CSR Board reports, impact assessments, and annual disclosures.
• Coordinate with implementing partners/NGOs; conduct due diligence, monitor fund utilization, and track outcomes.
• Handle social license to operate (SLO) issues, community protests/agitation management, and coordinate with plant leadership and government liaison teams.
• Conduct social impact assessments and need-based surveys (baseline studies) for the project catchment area.
• Ensure alignment with the company's sustainability/ESG framework and support external reporting as needed.
Candidate Requirements
• MSW/MBA (HR/Rural Management)/PG Diploma in CSR, Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
• 12–16 years of relevant CSR experience, with at least 3–5 years specifically in a greenfield project setting (steel, cement, mining, power, or other heavy industry preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in R&R, land acquisition-related community management, and stakeholder handling in Maharashtra.
• Strong understanding of local Maharashtra socio-political landscape, government schemes, and district-level administrative processes; proficiency in Marathi strongly preferred.
• Prior experience managing CSR compliance under Companies Act / CSR Rules, and handling CSR audits.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and crisis-handling skills.
• Willingness to be based at/relocate to the plant site in Maharashtra and travel extensively within the region.
Preferred
• Experience working with steel/metals majors on greenfield or brownfield expansion projects.
• Existing network with Maharashtra government departments (skill development board, Labour Department, educational/ vocational training institutes, medi-infra facilities, etc.) and local NGOs.
