Role Description The Governance and Public Policy Intern role is an internship position focused on supporting the foundation’s work in social impact, governance, and policy-related initiatives. This is a remote role, where the intern will assist in researching public policy trends, legislative frameworks, and governance models relevant to the foundation’s mission. Day-to-day tasks may include preparing briefs, drafting reports and concept notes, supporting policy advocacy efforts, and helping with the development of governance guidelines and internal processes. The intern will collaborate with team members on projects, contribute to stakeholder communication materials, and assist in organizing virtual meetings, consultations, or webinars. The role offers exposure to non-profit operations, policy analysis, and community engagement in a mission-driven environment.
Qualifications
Strong research and analytical abilities, including capacity to review policy documents, legislation, and governance frameworks.
Solid written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in drafting reports, briefs, emails, and presentation materials.
Interest in public policy, governance, social impact, or related fields such as political science, public administration, law, or development studies.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines while coordinating with a distributed team.
Proficiency in basic digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, online collaboration platforms).
Demonstrated commitment to social change, inclusion, and ethical conduct when working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic program; prior internship or volunteer experience in non-profits, policy, or governance is an advantage.
Open to learning, receptive to feedback, and comfortable working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
