About Us:
Mobileum is a leading provider of Telecom analytics solutions for roaming, core network, security, risk management, domestic and international connectivity testing, and customer intelligence. More than 1,000 customers rely on its Active Intelligence platform, which provides advanced analytics solutions, allowing customers to connect deep network and operational intelligence with real-time actions that increase revenue, improve customer experience, and reduce costs. Know our story: https://www.mobileum.com/
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Mobileum has global offices in Australia, Dubai, Germany, Greece, India, Portugal, Singapore and UK with global HC of over 1800+.
About NTR:
NTR (Network Traffic Redirector) is Mobileum's flagship in-path roaming traffic steering solution, deployed across 600+ operator networks worldwide and engineered for five-nines availability. Built on Core Java, RAID (our no-code/low-code UI and ETL platform), Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes/OpenShift, NTR steers roaming traffic in real time at carrier scale. We're now building agentic, GenAI-powered copilot capabilities on top of NTR, enabling autonomous configuration, natural-language operator assistance, and intelligent, self-healing traffic-steering decisions.
Overview:
We are hiring a Principal Engineer to architect Mobileum's agentic, GenAI-powered copilot capabilities for NTR — our carrier-grade, in-path roaming traffic steering platform used across 600+ operator networks. You will design how multi-agent orchestration, tool integration, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) let NTR autonomously configure and operate itself, while staying hands-on with core NTR engineering and mentoring the wider team. This is a deep technical architecture role: you set the target-state design and technical standards for agentic AI on NTR, and you're still writing code and prototyping alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Agentic Architecture & Strategy
Define the target-state architecture for NTR's agentic copilot platform: multi-agent orchestration, tool/function-calling integration, and RAG pipelines over NTR configuration, telemetry, and documentation
Select and evaluate agent frameworks, LLM providers, and orchestration patterns (e.g., LangGraph-style stateful workflows)
Define the model-hosting strategy (self-hosted/on-prem vs. API-based LLMs), accounting for the data-residency and security constraints typical of Tier-1 telco on-premise deployments
Establish safety, guardrail, and evaluation standards for autonomous or semi-autonomous NTR actions (approval workflows, audit trails, hallucination/regression checks)
Platform & Integration Engineering
Architect the integration layer between agentic services and NTR's Core Java backend (with a RAID-based no-code/low-code UI), ensuring safe, auditable access to live configuration and telemetry
Design context management, memory, and retrieval strategy across NTR's data stores (Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL)
Set standards for agent observability, tracing, and production monitoring
Core NTR Engineering
Remain hands-on with core NTR features and architecture: roaming traffic steering, signaling/session handling, and high-availability service design
Ensure the copilot platform meets NTR's carrier-grade, five-nines reliability bar
Technical Leadership & Enablement
Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to the Technical Lead and engineers building on the platform
Partner with product, telecom domain experts, and customers to prioritize agentic use cases with the highest operator impact
Represent the agentic AI roadmap in architecture reviews and executive updates
Required Technical Skills
Core Engineering
Deep expertise in Core Java, distributed systems, and backend architecture at carrier scale; familiarity with RAID (Mobileum's no-code/low-code UI and ETL platform) a plus
Strong system design across distributed data stores (Couchbase, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar), Kafka, and Kubernetes/OpenShift
Agentic AI & GenAI
Proven experience architecting production LLM/agentic systems: multi-agent orchestration, tool/function calling, RAG
Deep familiarity with agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar) and Python
Strong grasp of vector databases, context/memory management, and agent evaluation, safety, and observability practices
Telecom Domain
Familiarity with telecom/roaming systems, protocols, and roaming analytics; NTR or similar in-path traffic-steering experience a strong plus
Leadership
Strong technical influence and mentorship without relying on direct management authority
Required Qualifications
12–16 years of software engineering experience with deep distributed systems/backend architecture expertise (Core Java)
3+ years hands-on designing and shipping production LLM-based or agentic AI systems
Proven ability to set technical direction and influence across teams without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
Telecom/roaming domain experience, ideally including NTR or in-path traffic-steering products
Deep experience with agent orchestration frameworks and multi-agent architecture patterns
Familiarity with MCP/A2A or similar agent communication protocols
Experience with model evaluation, safety/guardrails, and production LLM observability
Exposure to fine-tuning (LoRA/QLoRA) or model serving infrastructure
Work Experience: 12-16 Years
Educational Qualification: BE. / B.Tech., M.E./M.Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering / MCA
Location: Bangalore
Work arrangement
No
