About Kinvora
Kinvora is a fast-growing global consulting firm delivering finance and business solutions to international clients. With a strong India delivery center, Kinvora specializes in finance transformation, process optimization, governance & compliance, and AI-powered, data-driven decision support across global markets. The firm works as a strategic partner and extension of client leadership teams.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong financial process expertise who can go beyond documentation to actively diagnose, improve, and transform finance operations. This is not a traditional BA role — you will function as a finance-focused consultant, working directly with overseas clients to understand financial workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend and implement scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & MIS
• Prepare and publish monthly MIS reports consolidating financial and operational performance across projects, sectors, and cost centres
• Produce executive-ready dashboards and summary packs for senior management and client presentations
• Standardise and document reporting templates and processes to improve consistency and turnaround time
Profitability & Cost Management
• Develop and maintain project-level and sector-level profitability reports — tracking revenue, direct costs, gross margin, and net contribution (monthly and cumulative)
• Perform cost allocation — allocating overheads, shared resources, and indirect costs to projects/business units using appropriate methodologies
• Identify loss-making projects early through ongoing margin monitoring and escalate with supporting analysis
Revenue & Billing
• Analyse revenue recognition, billing status, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) against contract values to flag under-billed or over-billed positions
Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts at project and business unit level
• Prepare variance analysis reports — actuals vs budget vs prior period, with commentary on key drivers
• Build and maintain Excel/reporting-tool models for scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and what-if modelling
Decision Support
• Conduct ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support decisions on pricing, project selection, resource allocation, and cost control
• Track KPIs across sectors/project portfolios, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas needing management attention
Month-End Close
• Support month-end close activities — accruals, prepayments, and cost provisions — in coordination with the finance team
Data & Process
• Extract, clean, and reconcile data from accounting systems (Zoho Books, ERP, or project management tools) for report accuracy
• Maintain master data integrity — project codes, cost centres, sector classifications, allocation keys
• Liaise with operations, project managers, and finance teams to gather inputs, validate data, and provide financial context to non-finance stakeholders
Technical Skills
• FP&A — Budgeting & Forecasting (project / business-unit level)
• Variance Analysis (actuals vs budget vs prior period)
• Cost Allocation & Margin / Profitability Analysis
• WIP & Revenue Recognition Analysis
• MIS Reporting & Executive Dashboards
• Advanced Excel — Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas
• Power BI / Tableau — preferred, not mandatory
• ERP / Accounting systems — Zoho Books, ERP, or PM tools (data extraction & reconciliation)
Eligibility & Qualifications
• Strong understanding of management accounting concepts — margin analysis, cost allocation, WIP, accruals
• Ability to work with large datasets, identify data quality issues, and present findings clearly to finance and non-finance audiences
• Experience working with project-based or contract-based businesses preferred
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred, but not mandatory for strong candidates with relevant experience
Work arrangement
No
