Role Description The Assistant Professor for Sociology at IEC College Of Engineering & Technology will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Sociology, design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and seminars, and guide students in academic projects and dissertations. The role involves developing and updating curricula, preparing course materials, assessing student performance, and providing academic advising and mentorship. The faculty member will engage in scholarly research, publish in academic journals, participate in conferences, and contribute to departmental and institutional academic initiatives. Responsibilities also include participation in committees, student outreach, and collaboration with colleagues on interdisciplinary programs and activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Noida.
Qualifications
Strong academic background and subject expertise in Sociology and related social sciences.
Skills in Anthropology and Education to support interdisciplinary teaching and student development.
Experience or demonstrated ability in Curriculum Development for sociology or social science programs.
Proficiency in Research, including designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and publishing scholarly work.
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution (Ph.D. preferred).
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, with effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and academic writing skills, with the ability to teach in English.
Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered pedagogy and the use of appropriate educational technologies.
Ability to work collaboratively within a department, contribute to academic committees, and support institutional initiatives.
