Your role and responsibilities
ABB is a technology leader in power control solutions. Within our High Power Converters business, we develop world-class power controllers that help customers across industries improve energy efficiency, process quality, and operational reliability.
We are looking for a skilled and people-oriented Development Manager to join our ABB Motion High Power Converters R&D organization in Helsinki. In this role, you will lead a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering product development projects within a complex technology environment. You will play a key role in developing project management capabilities, supporting project execution excellence, and ensuring effective resource utilization across the organization. Our R&D organization is a technically rewarding place to work, where you will collaborate closely with R&D managers, project teams, product management, and other stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes and continuously improve project management practices.

We offer a hybrid working model, but the role requires on-site presence at our offices in Pitäjänmäki.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of Project Managers in Helsinki
Ensuring effective planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of product development projects
Supporting project prioritization and resource allocation in collaboration with R&D leadership
Promoting ongoing improvements to project management methods, tools, and workflows
Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance within the team
Supporting Project Managers in risk management, issue resolution and stakeholder communication
Contributing to organizational development and strategic R&D initiatives
Qualifications for the role
Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field
Several years of experience in project management within product development, R&D, or industrial technology
Previous experience in leading teams, preferably in a project-driven environment
Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills
Ability to align diverse stakeholder needs and priorities to achieve project objectives
Experience in product development processes and project governance
Fluency in English and Finnish are required
The following qualifications are considered beneficial:
Experience in electrification, drives, power electronics, automation, or industrial products
Professional project management certification, such as PMP, IPMA or equivalent
