Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for Recovery Van Drivers based in Ludhiana East. The role involves operating recovery vans to tow or transport disabled or damaged vehicles, responding to calls and dispatch instructions, and ensuring safe loading, securing, and unloading of vehicles. Recovery Van Drivers will perform basic vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness and readiness of the recovery van, and follow all traffic and safety regulations. Daily tasks include keeping records of trips, fuel, and service calls, communicating clearly with customers and team members, and coordinating with the office or dispatch for scheduling and route planning. The role may require working in varied weather conditions and at different times of day, including weekends or evenings as needed.
Qualifications
Valid commercial or heavy vehicle driving license appropriate for recovery vans, with a clean driving record.
Practical experience driving commercial or recovery vehicles, with strong skills in safe driving, parking, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks, including tires, lights, fluid levels, and securing loads.
Ability to handle vehicle recovery tasks such as towing, winching, and securing vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
Good communication skills to interact respectfully with customers, team members, and authorities; ability to follow dispatch instructions accurately.
Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to work flexible hours when operational needs require.
Basic literacy and numeracy to complete trip logs, service records, and simple paperwork or digital forms.
Familiarity with local routes in Ludhiana East and surrounding areas is an advantage.
Prior experience in towing, recovery services, or commercial transportation is preferred but not mandatory.
