Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Pune (Hybrid/On-site)
About the Role: Walletdoc is building next-generation fintech infrastructure to power seamless, secure, and scalable financial services. We deal with high-throughput, high-availability systems and operate in a regulated domain where reliability, security, and compliance matter deeply. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who will own our cloud infrastructure and help us grow, stabilize, and scale. You’ll work closely with software engineers, security, and operations to build end-to-end deployment pipelines, resilient systems, and help drive operational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, operate, and optimize our infrastructure and platform in Azure.
• Lead the definition and implementation of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Containerize, orchestrate, and manage services using Kubernetes (e.g. Azure Kubernetes Service or equivalent)
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain Java-based microservices in production environments
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration (e.g. Infrastructure-asCode, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar)
• Implement and manage observability with Datadog (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting)
• Define and enforce best practices around observability (metrics, logging, tracing), alerting, and incident response
• Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth deployment workflows, deployment rollback strategies, and zero-downtime releases
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, cost optimization, and security hardening
• Document architectures, runbooks, and provide knowledge transfer to peers
Requirements:
• 8+ years of production experience working in DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure roles
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, artifacts, etc.)
• Strong experience operating, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters (experience with AKS or similar is a plus)
• Solid Java experience (building, deploying, debugging Java / JVM-based applications)
• Strong scripting / automation skills (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. ARM templates, Terraform, or equivalent)
• Experience designing systems for high availability, resiliency, performance, and scalability
• Good understanding of networking, security, identity and access control in cloud environments
• Monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting tooling experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot across the full stack (application + infrastructure)
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative mindset, and willingness to mentor or share knowledge.
Bonus / Nice to Have:
• Experience in financial or regulated environments
• Experience supporting or operating gRPC-based microservices
• Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) or Kubernetes operators
• Experience with container security, vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement
• Knowledge of CI/CD security practices (e.g. secrets management, artifact signing)
