Role Description This is a full-time, on-site GCP Data Engineer role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The GCP Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data architectures on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing ETL workflows, optimizing data models for analytics and reporting, and collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. The role involves monitoring data quality, performance tuning of data processes and warehouses, and adhering to best practices in security, documentation, and governance. The GCP Data Engineer will also support ongoing enhancements to existing data solutions and contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering standards within the organization.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and experience working with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing for designing scalable, performant, and well-structured data solutions.
Candidates should possess skills in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools to build efficient, maintainable data pipelines.
Candidates should possess skills in Data Analytics, including working with large datasets, querying using SQL, and supporting reporting and business intelligence needs.
Experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Composer is highly beneficial.
Proficiency in a programming language commonly used for data engineering (such as Python or Java) and familiarity with version control tools (such as Git).
Understanding of data security, privacy, and governance best practices, including role-based access and compliance standards.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
