About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
ApplyAZ is hiring a Social Media Content Creator to own the look, feel, and daily rhythm of our social media presence.
This is a role for a designer. Someone who studied design or has trained themselves to a professional standard, who thinks in grids, type, hierarchy, and colour, and who can carry a brand consistently across every post, story, thumbnail, and carousel we publish. You will work alongside our video editor and presenters, so you are not responsible for cutting long-form videos. Your job is to make everything we put out look like it came from a company students trust with their future.
You will not be required to appear on camera.
You will design Instagram carousels, graphics, covers, thumbnails, story sets, and platform-ready assets; manage the content calendar and publishing; run influencer outreach; and keep our community active and well looked after.
This role suits someone early in their career who already has real design ability and a portfolio to prove it, understands how design performs on social platforms, and wants to grow inside a fast-moving international education company.
What You'll Do
Design and brand
Design Instagram carousels, single posts, story sets, LinkedIn graphics, and platform-ready visuals to a high standard
Design clickable YouTube thumbnails, Reel covers, and channel art
Apply and protect our brand system — typography, colour, spacing, logo usage — across everything published
Build and extend reusable templates so our output stays consistent and fast
Translate educational and often dense information (deadlines, scholarships, requirements) into visuals people actually read
Design light motion and animated assets where they lift a post
Use AI tools for imagery, mockups, and visual exploration where they genuinely improve the work
Social media management
Prepare and maintain the social media content calendar
Schedule and publish approved content consistently
Adapt content across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and Reddit
Repurpose content between platforms without it feeling recycled
Write clear hooks, captions, headlines, and calls to action
Create Instagram Stories from daily topics, announcements, and existing footage
Community and influencers
Reply to comments and DMs and keep our community professional, warm, and active
Identify relevant influencers, creators, and student voices
Contact them, introduce collaboration opportunities, and follow up professionally
Maintain clean records of outreach and collaboration status
Performance
Monitor reach, engagement, saves, shares, click-through rate, and follower growth
Use what the data says to sharpen future designs, thumbnails, covers, and hooks
Research trends, competitor design work, layout styles, and new formats
Collaborate with presenters, the video editor, and the marketing team
What We're Looking For
A design background — a degree, diploma, or a portfolio that shows the same level of training
A portfolio of work you personally designed. This is the part of your application we look at first
Strong command of layout, typography, hierarchy, colour, and composition
The ability to hold a brand consistent across dozens of assets without it going flat
Fluency in Figma, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent tools
A real understanding of how design behaves on Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn — what stops a scroll, what gets saved, what gets ignored
Experience running or contributing to a social media page
Good written English for captions, titles, and outreach messages
Professional communication when contacting creators and community members
Strong attention to detail and the discipline to hit deadlines consistently
Openness to feedback and a habit of improving quickly
Availability for the required part-time schedule during the first three and a half months
You do not need to be an expert in every platform or tool. Design ability is the part that is not negotiable. We are looking for someone whose work already looks considered, and who can keep raising the bar through feedback, testing, and performance data.
Bonus Qualifications
Video editing skills in CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve — a genuine plus, though our video editor covers this
Motion design or animation (After Effects, Rive, or similar)
Previous experience designing thumbnails or covers with measurable click-through results
Experience with influencer or creator outreach
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, or LinkedIn Analytics
Experience creating content for education, study abroad, travel, or student-focused brands
Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, or similar
Basic web or landing-page design sense
What Makes This Role Great
Ownership of the visual identity of a growing international education brand, not just execution of someone else's layouts
Real work published across live channels, seen by students making one of the biggest decisions of their lives
Access to authentic footage, presenters, brand assets, and a video editor who handles the cutting
Room to test formats, layouts, and covers and see how they perform with a real audience
Clear responsibilities and regular feedback
A remote working arrangement
A path into a long-term full-time role
