Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. The position is responsible for managing and growing sales within an assigned territory, including identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing customer accounts, and meeting revenue and margin targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting customers, presenting product solutions, preparing quotations, negotiating terms, and closing deals. The Area Sales Manager will track sales performance, maintain accurate records in CRM or reporting tools, and provide regular updates and forecasts to leadership. The role also collaborates with internal teams to address customer requirements, resolve service issues, and support marketing initiatives such as local promotions and industry events.
Qualifications
Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably in polymers, plastics, chemicals, or related industrial products.
Strong skills in territory management, customer relationship building, and account retention.
Ability to conduct market research, identify new customer segments, and develop effective sales strategies.
Competence in negotiation, pricing discussions, and closing deals while maintaining profitability.
Comfort with sales reporting tools, CRM systems, and basic data analysis for tracking performance.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical product features clearly.
Self-motivated and organized, able to plan customer visits, manage pipelines, and work with minimal supervision.
Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned area and work on-site with customers and internal teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
Prior experience working in or with manufacturing environments, and familiarity with quality and logistics processes, is beneficial.
