Roles & Responsibilities:
● Lead end-to-end design of complex injection and blow moulds (single/multi-cavity, hot runner, family moulds).
● Conduct DFM/DFA studies and provide design feasibility inputs to customers and the sales team.
● Perform/oversee mould flow analysis (Moldflow) for defect prediction and design optimization.
● Review and approve mould design drawings prepared by junior/hand mould designers.
● Finalize gating, cooling, and ejection system design for optimal cycle time and part quality.
● Coordinate with tool room, production, and quality teams during mould trials and validation.
● Drive design standardization, DFM checklists, and best-practice documentation.
● Provide technical guidance during customer design reviews and APQP/PPAP activities.
● Mentor and train junior/hand mould designers.
● Evaluate and approve design changes/Engineering Change Notes (ECNs).
Skill Set Required:
● Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (UG-NX, Pro-E/Creo, SolidWorks) for mould design.
● Strong command over mould flow simulation tools (Moldflow/Moldex3D).
● In-depth knowledge of injection & blow moulding processes, hot runner systems, and multi-cavity mould design.
● Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and materials engineering.
● Experience handling APQP/PPAP documentation and customer design reviews.
● Leadership skills to manage and mentor a design team.
● Strong problem-solving skills for complex mould/tooling issues.
Educational Qualification Required
● B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or Plastic Engineering preferred; Diploma with extensive experience also considered.
● Additional certification in Mould Design/Moldflow Simulation is an advantage.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
● On-time delivery of complex mould designs against project timelines.
● Reduction in design-related trial iterations/rejections.
● Cycle time and quality improvement achieved through design optimization.
● Customer design approval and PPAP sign-off timelines.
● Design cost savings/value engineering contribution.
● Team productivity and mentoring effectiveness.
Compensation:
For experienced candidates, Total salary Package up to 15 Lakhs (Includes Variable Pay and ESOPs)
Internship Stipend: ₹15,000 per month.
Internship Duration: 12 Months
Post Internship Salary: ₹3.0 – ₹4.5 LPA CTC (Based on Performance).
