Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our team, working primarily on-site at shipyards across Greater China. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of Lagersmit’s maritime shaft sealing solutions, ensuring the highest standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Installation & Maintenance:
Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Lagersmit’s shaft sealing systems at shipyards, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest quality standards.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with sealing systems on-site, providing effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of installed systems, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide on-site technical support to shipyard personnel and clients, troubleshooting issues and offering expert advice on optimal system performance.
Work closely with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues and provide tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
Offer guidance and training to clients and shipyard staff on the proper operation and maintenance of Lagersmit products.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with shipyard clients and vessel operators such as; super intendents, vessel managers), ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Serve as the key point of contact for service-related matters, ensuring all client needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Regularly update customers on service progress, maintaining clear and open communication at all stages of the process.
Reporting & Documentation:
Complete detailed service reports, including service activities, findings, and recommendations, to ensure accurate documentation and communication with internal teams and clients.
Assist in preparing reports on maintenance and service activities for management, helping track service performance and customer satisfaction.
Ensure all service activities comply with safety and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of safety awareness on-site.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up to date on industry trends, technological advancements, and Lagersmit’s product offerings to continuously improve service quality and knowledge.
