Job Summary
Oldcastle APG is seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct R&D and quality control tasks in the Oldcastle Concrete and Mortar Laboratory in White Marsh, MD. The individual will collaboratively perform product development work requiring the analysis of material properties coupled with material costs. This role will also require lifting, mixing and stacking concrete bags. The individual will report to the Regional Quality Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in comparing formula variations and making physical measurements in an iterative fashion to meet product specification targets.
Support manufacturing plant managers in measurements, conclusions, and corrective actions for forensic investigations regarding SONA products.
Perform routine laboratory measurements on raw materials, concrete, and mortar samples.
Create summary reports discussing results of tests, including the use of tables and graphs.
Maintain the instruments required by the Concrete and Mortar Laboratories
Maintain warehouse.
Mix, pour and lift bags and buckets of concrete as needed.
Job Requirements
1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting or in concrete/masonry field work.
Experience in concrete/mortar testing and ASTM standards is a plus, but all necessary training will be provided.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
The ability to multitask between assigned tasks and self-motivated ones.
Attention to detail required with respect to Personal Protective Equipment usage and safety.
This position may require a standing position for an extensive amount of time.
Ability to lift up to 85 lbs.

$26 - $29/hr
