Position Overview
The Field Survey Technician is responsible for performing accurate and timely land site surveys to collect field data, analyze survey results and generate reports that support mine planning, resource management and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Plan and organize survey field activities timely and accurately.
Operate robotic total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors and drone equipment.
Ensure proper care, maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment and tools.
Ensure accuracy and precision of survey work, including verification of data and cross-checking of measurements.
Perform physically demanding tasks including shoveling, lifting heavy objects, operating motor vehicles and utilizing small power equipment.
Establish survey control points and site benchmarks.
Measure stockpiles and calculate material volumes.
Complete construction staking for site development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Prior surveying experience preferred.
Prior drone experience preferred.
Work Requirements
Must be 18 years in age or older.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal/motor vehicle background check.
Must obtain and maintain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate within six (6) months of employment and maintain certifications as required.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the company MVR requirements.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Must be able to travel as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, and database software. Must be able to utilize internet and communicate effectively.
