About The Role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our telecom-focused engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java-based automation, with the ability to create and enhance test scripts from scratch, ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical telecom systems. Prior experience in telecom domain will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and related frameworks.
Enhance and modify the existing Java Automation Suite to improve test coverage and efficiency.
Create test scripts from scratch based on requirements and workflows.
Work closely with developers and product owners to understand features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for telecom applications.
Utilize CI/CD tools (GitLab) to integrate automated tests into the build pipeline.
Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality standards and processes.
What You Bring
Experience:
BSS Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Telecom Business Support Systems (BSS) processes and functionalities (e.g., order management, billing, charging, customer care).
Microservices Testing: Proven experience in testing complex microservices-based architectures.
Test Automation Expertise:
Developing and maintaining automated test suites (unit, integration, API, end-to-end).
Proficiency with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Postman/Newman, Rest-Assured).
API Testing: Hands-on experience with testing REST, SOAP, and gRPC APIs.
Database: Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation in MySQL/PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Elasticsearch.
Performance & Load Testing: Familiarity with tools and methodologies for performance, scalability, and load testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
Containerization & Orchestration: Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for testing in containerized environments.
Messaging System Testing: Experience testing applications that utilize Apache Kafka for event processing.
Defect Management & Reporting: Proficient in identifying, logging, tracking, and reporting defects in agile project management tools (e.g., Jira).
Version Control: Familiarity with Git for managing test assets.
AI-Assisted Testing: Practical experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., AI-powered test generation, defect analysis) to enhance testing efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with other telecom BSS vendors (e.g., Amdocs, Netcracker, Ericsson, Huawei).
Familiarity with telecom billing, customer & order management systems.
Prior experience in working with Agile/sprint model
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priorities
Qualifications:
