Role Description This is a full-time Junior Interior Designer role based in Chennai with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The Junior Interior Designer will assist in developing design concepts, preparing space plans, and supporting senior designers with project presentations. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating construction drawings, sourcing FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), and coordinating with vendors and contractors under supervision. The role involves site visits for measurements and progress checks, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring design standards and timelines are met. The Junior Interior Designer will collaborate closely with the design team to deliver cohesive, client-focused interiors from initial briefing through project completion.
Qualifications
Ability to work with Space Planning and Interior Design principles to create functional and visually appealing layouts.
Understanding of Architecture and Construction Drawings to support project documentation and coordination.
Knowledge of FF&E selection, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment, with attention to quality, budget, and aesthetics.
Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and basic presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, InDesign).
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Strong visual sense, attention to detail, and ability to follow design guidelines and brand standards.
Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take feedback and work in a team environment.
Willingness to conduct site visits in Chennai and manage basic project coordination tasks under guidance.
