Network Engineer Trainee

Key Responsibilities
Monitor network device performance and availability, primarily focusing on Cisco networking equipment.
Perform initial analysis and troubleshooting of network connectivity and TCP/IP protocol issues.
Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network devices, adhering to established Cisco IOS best practices.
Support the implementation and daily management of network security policies on various network security devices.
Contribute to the documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Participate in vulnerability scanning activities for network infrastructure, assisting with data collection and initial reporting using platforms like Tenable (Nessus).
Collaborate with senior network engineers on security projects, including network segmentation and access control initiatives.
Provide initial support during network-related security incidents, assisting with log review and data collection.
Requirements
0-1 years of professional experience in network operations or a related technical field.
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (Btech) degree.
Demonstrable foundational understanding of networking concepts, including CCNA curriculum principles.
Proficiency in Cisco networking fundamentals and basic Cisco IOS commands.
Solid grasp of TCP/IP protocol suite, including addressing, subnetting, routing, and common services.
Ability to analyze network traffic and interpret network diagrams.
Strong problem-solving aptitude and a drive for continuous learning in cybersecurity.
This is an onsite role based in Gurugram.
Nice-to-Have
Attainment of CCNA certification.
Basic exposure to network security concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools or SIEM platforms.
Understanding of basic scripting (e.g., Python) for network automation tasks.
