Technical Lead -Workday Platform
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead -Workday Platform to join our global Workday Platform team. This role will primarily focus on Workday Integrations and Reporting, supporting enterprise-wide HR and Finance processes across multiple business functions, including Human Resources, Payroll, Employee Experience, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Invoice-to-Cash (I2C), and Record-to-Report (R2R).
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in Workday integrations, reporting, and platform development, combined with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to governance, standardization, and continuous improvement. This role will partner closely with business, HR, Finance, and IT teams to design, build, support, and optimize Workday solutions while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the Workday platform.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Integrations Development
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Workday integrations using:
Workday Studio
Core Connectors
Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS)
Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs)
Develop and maintain inbound and outbound integrations across Workday, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, Identity Management, and third-party applications.
Configure and manage Integration System Users (ISUs), integration security, authentication methods, and middleware connectivity.
Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement scalable solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Drive integration lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Workday Reporting & Analytics
Design and develop Advanced, Matrix, BIRT, and operational reporting solutions to support business and operational requirements.
Build dashboards, scheduled report deliveries, and self-service reporting capabilities for HR, Finance, Payroll, and leadership stakeholders.
Develop and maintain calculated fields and reporting frameworks that support enterprise reporting standards.
Optimize report performance, usability, and data quality while ensuring governance and consistency.
HCM & Financials Platform Support
Partner with business stakeholders supporting HCM and Financials business processes.
Contribute to initiatives supporting Procure-to-Pay, Invoice-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report business functions.
Collaborate with Finance teams to expand and support Workday Financials capabilities, including Financial Data Model (FDM) structures and reporting requirements.
Assist with financial process automation, reporting enhancements, and integrations supporting procurement and financial operations.
Platform Governance & Best Practices
Promote platform governance through documentation, standardization, naming conventions, reference ID management, and reusable design patterns.
Maintain technical documentation for integrations, reports, data mappings, and support processes.
Apply enterprise best practices for security, data governance, audit readiness, and operational support.
Support ownership and accountability models through dedicated ISUs and integration governance frameworks.
Workday Release & Continuous Improvement
Participate in Workday bi-annual release activities, including:
Release note reviews
Preview tenant testing
Regression testing
Evaluation of automatically enabled and opt-in features
Assess impacts to integrations, reports, and business processes and coordinate implementation plans.
Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, automation, and user experience.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, Employee Experience, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Participate in cross-functional project teams supporting new implementations, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
Collaborate effectively with global teams across APAC, EMEA, and North America.
Support flexible collaboration models to accommodate global stakeholder engagement.
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor junior developers, analysts, and operational teams on Workday integrations, reporting, calculated fields, and platform best practices.
Support knowledge transfer initiatives and promote self-service reporting capabilities within business functions.
Contribute to team capability development through training, documentation, and peer coaching.
Innovation & Productivity
Leverage modern productivity and AI-enabled tools to improve planning, analysis, testing, documentation, and operational efficiency.
Participate in continuous learning and evaluation of emerging Workday technologies, testing tools, and platform capabilities.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of Workday experience with strong emphasis on technical development.
Proven hands-on expertise with:
Workday Studio
Core Connectors
EIBs
RaaS
Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST)
Middleware integrations
ISU management
Strong experience developing and supporting Workday reporting solutions, including:
Advanced Reports
Matrix Reports
BIRT Reports
Dashboards and scheduled reporting
Experience supporting full project lifecycles including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT organizations.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments and Jira-based project management processes.
Demonstrated commitment to documentation, governance, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Workday Financials, including Financial Data Model (FDM) concepts and financial reporting requirements.
Experience supporting Procure-to-Pay, Invoice-to-Cash, or Record-to-Report business processes.
Familiarity with Workday Security concepts including role-based and user-based security groups.
Exposure to Prism Analytics, Composite Reports, Kainos, Testmo, or other testing and automation platforms.
Workday certifications in Integrations, Reporting, HCM, or Financials.
Experience leveraging AI-enabled productivity tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, NotebookLM, or similar technologies.
