Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Assistant Fashion Designer role based in Bhubaneswar. The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the lead designer in developing garment concepts, preparing sketches, and selecting appropriate fabrics and trims. Daily tasks include assisting with sample development, coordinating fittings, noting adjustments, and collaborating with the production team to ensure designs are accurately executed. The role also involves contributing to embroidery and surface detailing ideas, maintaining design documentation, and organizing materials and samples. The Assistant Fashion Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet timelines and uphold brand standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, including silhouettes, color, and trend awareness.
Knowledge of Textiles, fabric properties, and material selection for various garment types.
Hands-on skills in Embroidery and decorative techniques for enhancing garment aesthetics.
Experience supporting Fitting sessions, recording alterations, and communicating fit requirements to production.
Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to sketch by hand or using basic design tools; familiarity with design software is an advantage.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks part-time on-site.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
