We’re hiring: Founding AI/ML Engineer
Company: Intelyx Labs | Product: QROOT
Intelyx Labs is building technology products around robotics, indoor farming and smart living.
Our first major product, QROOT, is a smart hydroponic growing system designed to make growing fresh food at home simple.
Now we want to take QROOT much further.
We’re building towards an autonomous food-growing platform — a system that can understand a plant, monitor its health, learn how it grows and eventually take care of the entire growing process autonomously.
We’re looking for a strong AI/ML Engineer who wants to build this from the ground up.
What you'll work on
Computer vision for plant identification and growth-stage detection
Plant health and nutrient-deficiency detection
ML models using real-world plant and environmental data
AI-powered growing recommendations
Automated nutrient and water management
IoT and cloud data pipelines
QROOT's Plant Intelligence Engine
Eventually, a closed-loop autonomous growing system
The long-term vision is simple:
Put a seed into QROOT. QROOT takes care of the rest.
What we're looking for
Strong Python skills
Experience with ML / Deep Learning
Computer Vision experience
Experience with CNNs, Vision Transformers, VLMs or similar technologies
Experience with LLMs and modern AI APIs
Good understanding of data pipelines and model deployment
IoT/device experience is a plus
Agriculture or plant science knowledge is not required. Curiosity and ability to learn matter more.
This is not a typical AI job.
You won't be maintaining an existing AI platform or building another chatbot.
You'll be one of the first people building the AI foundation for QROOT — from data collection and experimentation to production systems.
You will have significant ownership over the architecture and technology direction.
