RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate functional specifications, requirements, and standards into practical
verification test plans
Design, develop, automate, and debug tests for firmware, embedded software, and device
drivers
Support CI/CD-based automated regression execution, triage, and reporting
Develop and maintain test frameworks for post-silicon testing
Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code or GitHub CoPilot to improve software test
development productivity
Set up, configure, and debug third-party test equipment and Microchip SoC evaluation
boards
Perform hands-on lab debug of firmware, embedded Linux/RTOS software, drivers, and
hardware/software integration issues
Write and review clear engineering documentation, test procedures, and issue reports
Work with product development, applications, validation, and verification teams on test-
related activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or
equivalent
5+ years of related work experience in software, firmware, or embedded systems
verification
Strong knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming, including test automation and
scripting
Experience working in a Linux development environment.
Experience designing, implementing, automating, and debugging different styles of tests
for firmware, embedded software, and device drivers, including functional, regression,
performance, stress, robustness, and negative/error-path tests
Experience with CI/CD systems, automated regression environments, and issue triage
Experience using Claude Code, GitHub CoPilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools is
required
Experience working on embedded ARM, RISC-V, or MIPS processors
Experience with embedded Linux, RTOS environments, device drivers, or board support
packages
Experience using Bitbucket/GitHub and the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence)
Experience working with a lab environment for test execution and debug
Experience working with the QEMU emulator for embedded software development, test
execution, or debug would be helpful
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working as part of a collaborative development
or verification team
