We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, People Strategy and Advisory to join our People Team. This role is located in Tokyo, Japan.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Develop, deliver and execute a full spectrum of People Team strategies and services, that align with BNY’s business objectives by collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Act as an escalation point on more complex matters for People Strategy partners, lines of business, and centers of excellence.
Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention by utilizing data-driven insights and best practices in talent management.
Provide strategic advisory to senior leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management to support business growth and transformation.
Monitor and analyze industry trends and best practices in people strategy to ensure BNY remains competitive and innovative in its approach to human capital management.
Support the delivery of People Team solutions across core center-of-excellence designed processes, including Talent Acquisition, Talent and Development, Compensation & Mobility, Employee Relations, M&A, People Governance and special projects for a specified internal client group.
Manage work that includes, but is not limited to, more complex aspects of year-end compensation planning, annual talent review and succession planning, performance management across APAC, and day-to-day activities such as onboarding, offboarding, and promotions.
Conduct intake and triage within established guidelines for sensitive and complex Employee Relations cases, as well as employee and manager inquiries.
Deliver and support ad hoc reporting and analysis, M&A activity, and special projects.
This role does not have direct management responsibilities but may provide guidance and support to less experienced peers.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
5–8 years of progressive related experience in Asia Pacific preferred, with demonstrated success in areas such as Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Change Management, Workforce Planning, or Total Rewards Planning.
Fluency in Japanese is required.
Knowledge of employment law in Japan is required.
